SHEEFISH AND ARCTIC CHAR EXPEDITION
Every August in northwest Alaska, sheefish (or inconnu) migrate up the Kobuk River, which runs along the arctic circle. These superb sportfish are a predatory member of the whitefish family, and the fish on the Kobuk average twenty pounds. They are well known for their acrobatic jumps while hooked. August also marks the spawning migration of huge arctic char in the far northwest arctic of Alaska. SLAB CREEK GUIDE SERVICE offers a very limited five-day expedition to this remote arctic region, which
includes two days of targeting sheefish, and two days of fishing for colorful arctic char, which may exceed ten pounds. An extra day of travel is required for this remote trip. Lodging will be in the villages of Bettles and Kotzebue, both of which have restaurants and grocery stores. Please call for rates and information about this special guided trip!
